Bellata Golf Club harvest pledge to keep doors open

The Bellata Golf Club is seeking grain or cash donations to reach a goal of 500 tonnes, aiming to keep the club open and thriving.

00:00The Mallatta Golf Club had to come up with a way to keep the doors open

00:03and we thought the Harvest Pledge in a season issue where there's a good season

00:08the growers may get involved and support the club so we thought it was a great

00:12idea to kick it off to try and raise some money for the

00:15community not only just the golf club the hall

00:17the tennis court and the school in these smaller towns all need a little bit of

00:21help. The whole aim of this is to keep the club

00:24open for the community you know it's cost us

00:26in excess of 160 grand a year just to run the club without all the other

00:30community things we're trying to help with the school and everything else so

00:34yeah we're trying that's the whole reason for this is to keep

00:37something open for the community. Our target's 500 ton

00:40or equivalent cash. Asking growers just to donate a portion of their grain

00:46whether it be five ton, ten, twenty whichever

00:50and that just gets converted using an NGR number which i'm sure they're

00:53familiar with when they drop off to Manildra or

00:56Braincorp which whichever and that just gets converted to funds

00:59straight to the account yeah and that's going to really help

01:02propel the club forward. I think structurally needs a bit of

01:05work there's a lot of appliance that need for the kitchen

01:08outdoors need to be rectified plumbing yeah and we really need some

01:14help with that and it's getting quite desperate.

01:16I'd assume a lot of small towns in regional area not-for-profit

01:21businesses are all under all sorts of pressures I assume at the moment

01:26financially at the moment so this is this was our

01:30little way of trying to raise money to keep

01:32the doors open on our little community and

01:36it's been very well supported.
