00:00We buried a bottle of bourbon before our southern wedding and people were shocked to know why.
00:05There's a southern tradition that says you should bury a bottle of bourbon a month before your
00:09wedding if you want to have good weather on your wedding day. So a month before our wedding,
00:13my husband and I dug a hole, put a bottle of bourbon upside down in the dirt at the site of
00:20our wedding. It's not a super well-known tradition, but there are some southerners like me and my
00:25husband that swear by it. I'm happy to report that the weather on our late April wedding could
00:32not have been better. And what does any of that have to do with the cocktail that I'm making right
00:37now? Well, our signature wedding drink was called the basil smash, appropriately named after our dog
00:44Basil. And two years later, people are still talking about the bourbon basil smash that we
00:50served at our wedding. Y'all, it is so good. She's just the sweetest, most beautiful angel I've ever seen in my whole life.
