Year-long closure begins on Dequindre Road to install new water transmission main

Work has begun on another long-term construction project that will leave a major Metro Detroit thoroughfare closed for the next year.

00:00This is the Quindar, between 23 and 24 mile road.

00:07You can see the Quindar is open now, but within the hour, this is all going to be closed down.

00:13They're just making preparation right now to close it down.

00:16Apparently the Great Lakes Water Authority is going to put in a big water main,

00:21about a 96 inch diameter, 8,000 feet of steel water main.

00:29It's going to help water in Oakland County, Macomb County, and Lapeer County.

00:34You can see they're just getting ready.

00:36So it's going to be closed for a year.

00:38So avoid the Quindar between 23 and 24 mile road.
