What are your thoughts on the idea of legalising assisted dying for terminally ill people? Do you believe it provides a compassionate choice, or do you have concerns about the risks?

00:00Who knows better what someone wants than their own family members?

00:03So a doctor can have a call on it from a health perspective,

00:07but they'll never have the emotion behind it.

00:08They'll never have that person's, you know, true feelings at heart.

00:11And that's fine, that's human nature.

00:13They're just going to do their job at the end of the day.

00:15But I think the best people, especially if that person is expressing

00:18to their close family and friends that, you know,

00:20I'm no longer wanting to be here.

00:22I mean, I personally, if I was at a point in life

00:25where I had to be fully looked after, I couldn't even use the toilet.

00:27I couldn't even move.

00:28I couldn't even enjoy the things that I like to enjoy in life in any capacity.

00:32Then I think that person then has the right to decide

00:35whether they want to be here anymore.

00:37I've experienced someone who actually wanted to end their life

00:39because they were in pain that much.

00:41If it depends, it actually really depends.

00:44If it's like a terminal illness and you're actually really that much in pain,

00:46you should get the choice whether you want to live and carry on or not.

00:49But if it's just someone depending on their life,

00:52they're just depressed, I want to die.

00:53I don't think you should get the choice to do that

00:55because every life should be cherished.
