04:31Despite earning an Academy Award nomination for its cinematography,

04:35this Chilean film is largely undersung.

04:38It imagines a fictional timeline where former dictator Augusto Pinochet is actually a vampire

04:45who has lived many lives and faked many deaths.

04:49At least, we assume it's fiction.

04:56Not only is it a great vampire story, it's also a raucous and irreverent political satire.

05:03Just when you think it can't get any crazier,

05:06it turns out famed British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is also a vampire.

05:20Number six, The Last Voyage of Demeter.

05:23I have finally seen the true darkness that dwells beneath the surface of this world.

05:28The evil that neither science nor reason can explain.

05:33Seeing as he's the most famous vampire of all time, you'd have been justified in thinking

05:39we'd seen every possible take on the original Dracula story.

05:43This one goes all the way back to Bram Stoker's original novel for inspiration.

05:59Telling the bloody and treacherous story of the ship that carried the Count from his home in

06:04Transylvania to the streets of London, this movie is anything but old-fashioned.

06:14The Last Voyage of Demeter does the unthinkable.

06:17It makes Count Dracula terrifying again.

06:47The only trouble is that the nice elderly couple they're renting the house from

06:54And once they find out, it turns out they're not so nice after all.

07:04Traipsing around, barely in her clothes, enticing my wife.

07:12Mia Goth does double duty as the decrepit homicidal Pearl and the gorgeous young
