Welcome to the sixty-first episode of the Minutes Mastery series by Triumph through Training Pvt. Ltd. (3T)! In this episode, Dr. Veena K. Arora explores the metaphorical concept of the Bermuda Triangle Effect in management and psychology—where resources, information, or even people seem to "disappear" in complex and chaotic environments.

Originally coined by Vincent Gaddis in his 1964 book Invisible Barriers, the term "Bermuda Triangle" refers to the mysterious disappearances of ships and planes in the Atlantic Ocean, an area bounded by Bermuda, Miami, and Puerto Rico. While these disappearances have been attributed to supernatural forces, most are explained by natural factors like poor weather or mechanical failures.

In management, the Bermuda Triangle Effect can manifest as:

1. Organizational Dysfunction: When projects or people get "lost" in bureaucratic complexity or inefficiency.
2. Communication Breakdown: When important data or messages are consistently lost or misunderstood within an organization.
3. Mystification in Decision-Making: When leaders encounter seemingly unexplainable setbacks in strategic initiatives.

Dr. Arora draws parallels between this concept and real-life examples such as the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link project, which faced decades of delays due to bureaucratic red tape, and the oxygen crisis during the 2021 pandemic, where communication failures led to resource shortages. These cases highlight how the Bermuda Triangle Effect can disrupt progress and create confusion.

We acknowledge Vincent Gaddis and reference notable films like The Bermuda Triangle (1978) and The Triangle (2009) for their creative exploration of the mystery surrounding the Bermuda Triangle.

00:57have been proposed about the cause of these disappearances from supernatural
01:02to scientific ones there is no concrete evidence to support them most incidents
01:08in the Bermuda Triangle can be attributed to common environmental
01:12factors such as poor weather conditions like violent storms or hurricanes
01:17methane gas eruptions from the ocean floor rogue waves or even mechanical

02:26overruns due to excessive bureaucratic red tapism as in case of the Mumbai
02:31trans harbor link project here the project got lost in bureaucratic
02:37complexity just as ships and planes used to disappear I can also remember
02:43another example during the pandemic that is the oxygen crisis when some state
02:49governments claimed shortage of supplies while central authorities gave
02:54conflicting data about stock availability it was like the Bermuda
