The mission wasn't impossible for T&T in Tobago.

As the Soca Warriors got the job done, beating Cuba 3-1 to avoid relegation out of Concacaf Nations League A.

As a result, T&T also earned a spot in the preliminary qualifying round for the 2025 Gold Cup.

Dantaye Gilbert, Joevin Jones and Real Gill were the scorers for T&T in a chance-filled encounter at the Dwight Yorke stadium.

00:00All right relax everybody the mission is complete in Tobago as Jovin Jones scored
00:06his second goal in two matches as the national football team beat Cuba 3-1 to
00:10avoid relegation out of the CONCACAF Nations League and to also secure a
00:15Gold Cup playoff spot. While 19-year-old Dutch-based attacker Dante Gilbert also
00:20scored his first international goal while 21-year-old Real Gil got his
00:23second in a chance-filling counter at the Dwight York Stadium.
00:28From the Dwight York Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago it's a pivotal night in the
00:34CONCACAF Nations League as Trinidad and Tobago play host to Cuba.
00:39A pivotal match indeed and the Soco Warriors would come out with intent.

02:47Caretaker coach Derrick King was relieved and happy not only for the victory and avoiding relegation
02:53but also to have earned his first victory as coach of the national team.
02:58When we analysed the game we played away from home
03:01the defenders were bringing the ball into our midfield line
03:07so we tweaked our system a bit by adding Jovin Jones and Dante as well.
03:15I think we set up perfectly in the first half
03:19so we could move the ball as they wanted.
03:23We set the trap and as soon as we pushed them one side
03:27and got the high press we intercepted the ball and got a goal scoring opportunity.
03:33Despite the positive results and effective tactics
03:36TNT did waste a number of open goal scoring chances
03:40and King spoke on that and other issues.
03:43As we continue for our last few sessions
03:46we work on finishing and I think we are getting much better.
03:49The key factor is that we created the goal scoring opportunity
03:55but in the second half I think we were a bit sloppy
03:59especially defensively so that is something we have to continue working on
04:04especially at the top level.
04:07With Nations League A football secured
04:10the Warriors will be in action during the next FIFA International window in November
04:14and after that is World Cup qualification.
04:18It is important that we continue working as a unit
04:22we have a local based team in training
04:25we will continue working with them both physically and mentally
04:29the team is also doing some chain work as well
04:32so we had a few local based players who made the team
04:36and I think I am very proud of them.
