00:09games that some players may be unaware of.

00:25Clock Tower Rewind.

00:30Originally released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, Clock Tower was a groundbreaking

00:41release for the survival horror genre.

00:44While it got a few sequels around the world, the first game never officially released outside

00:49of Japan, meaning many horror fans have likely never tried it.

00:53That's about to change with Rewind, an upcoming remaster from WayForward and Limited Run Games.

01:00While much of the game will be kept the same, new features include an animated intro and

01:05manga-style cutscenes, the ability to save more often or rewind your mistakes, and, most

01:11importantly, different languages.

01:13Clock Tower Rewind releases October 29th, 2024 for all major platforms.

01:26Croc Legend of the Gobbos.

01:33When Croc Legend of the Gobbos released in 1997, it was among a sea of other 3D platformers

01:41like it.

01:42It was still received decently, but hasn't quite stood the test of time like many others.

01:47However, the little crocodile is getting a new lease on life, hopefully, with an upcoming

01:53remaster.

01:54Announced for release sometime in 2024, it will come with updated controls and visuals,

01:59as well as behind-the-scenes features like concept art and interviews with those who

02:03worked on the game.

02:05Speaking of which, it's being developed by the original studio, Argonaut Games, which

02:09was re-founded the same year after closing in 2004.

02:18Goat Simulator Remastered.

02:21I want my mommy!

02:232014's Goat Simulator was a purposely broken sandbox game built to let players bask in

02:30its utter ridiculousness.

02:32As the world's most chaotic goat, players ran around a city wreaking havoc.

02:37While it got a sequel in 2022, a remaster of the first is also on the way.

02:43Announced via a humorous trailer that pokes fun at pointless ports and rushed remasters,

02:48this new version will feature updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements, which kinda

02:53defeats the purpose.

02:54But it will also include all DLC, including content that was previously only found in

03:00the mobile version.

03:01It's set for release on PC, Xbox Series X slash S, and PS5 sometime in 2024.

03:13Freedom Wars Remastered.

03:19Although PlayStation's handhelds never matched the success of Nintendo's, those who had

03:25them found plenty of great exclusives.

03:28One for the Vita was Freedom Wars, a dystopian action RPG with some Monster Hunter inspirations.

03:35It sold incredibly well in Japan, but pretty much everyone thought it was a one-off until

03:40the announcement of a remaster came out of nowhere in September of 2024.

03:45It's being developed by part of the original team at Dimps and published by Bandai Namco

03:51instead of Sony this time around.

03:53It will feature the usual updated visuals and controls, but it will also launch on PC

03:58and Nintendo Switch in addition to PS4 and PS5.

04:09The Thing Remastered.

04:16In 2002, Computer Artworks released a video game sequel to John Carpenter's The Thing.

04:22Not only did it receive the director's blessing, but it was a commercial hit that could have

04:26jumpstarted a spin-off series had the developer not closed down the following year.

04:32For those wanting to revisit the title, or for those who missed it the first time around,

04:36you're in luck.

04:37A remaster is on the way from Night Dive Studios sometime in 2024, which has worked on a ton

04:43of remasters and enhanced ports over the last decade.

04:47Some of the original developers also worked as consultants on this remaster to ensure

04:52it stayed true to their vision.

04:58Tales of Grace's F Remastered.

05:06Bandai Namco's original Tales of Grace was a Japan-only RPG for the Wii before getting

05:12a wider release on the PS3.

05:15It was highly praised for its gameplay, particularly its combat system, but still didn't reach

05:20the heights of some other games in the Tales series.

05:24A remastered version is scheduled for release on January 17th, 2025 across all major platforms.

05:30And from the sounds of it, it will be the definitive way to play.

05:34Fans will be treated to expected bells and whistles, updated visuals, controls, and quality

05:40of life improvements.

05:42But all DLC will also be bundled with it, in addition to some new scenes that were previously

05:47only available in Japanese versions.

05:53Little Big Adventure, Twinsen's Quest.

06:011994's Little Big Adventure is a beloved isometric action-adventure game that made

06:06waves for its early use of 3D.

06:09It follows a young boy named Twinsen, who has a dream about the end of his world and

06:13works to stop a mad scientist from taking over the planet with an army of clones.

06:19Players will be able to revisit the classic and its charming hero in late 2024 through

06:24a remake from publisher Microids and developer 2.21.

06:28The makers are giving the game a visual refresh while maintaining the original style.

06:33Naturally, there will also be revamped controls and reimagined settings, but surprisingly,

06:39there will also be new music from the original game's composer.

06:47Suikoden I & II HD Remaster, Gate Rune, and Dunin Unification Wars.

06:55Konami is currently gearing up for several comebacks of dormant franchises, though one

07:06that isn't getting as much attention as others is the remaster of the first two Suikoden

07:12games.

07:13The studio originally released the RPG collection in 2006, though only on PSP and only in Japan.

07:21This time around, though, there will be a lot more players who can experience it.

07:25Not only is it releasing worldwide, but it will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One,

07:32Xbox Series X and the Switch.

07:36It comes with refreshed art for backgrounds and character portraits that many HD 2D games

07:42have been getting, as well as some new and improved sound design and some nice quality

07:47of life advancements.

07:49Come March 6th, 2025, RPG fans won't want to miss it.

08:03If you never played the 2001 action RPG Gothic, you may have at least heard about how much

08:09of a trailblazer it was.

08:11Set in an open fantasy world, players were thrown into the role of a prisoner, forced

08:16to mine ore used in a war against orcs.

08:19Although a few sequels and spin-offs were released, none of them ever measured up to

08:23the first.

08:24Publisher THQ Nordic announced plans for a remake in 2019, released a demo, and adjusted

08:30it based on player feedback.

08:32A new developer, Alchemia Interactive, was founded specifically for the game, which has

08:38since taken on employees of original developer Piranha Bytes, which closed in early 2024.

08:46As of writing, the remake is scheduled to be released sometime between Q4 2024 and Q1 2025.

08:57Jet Set Radio

09:04In late 2023, Sega announced the planned revival of several franchises, including cult favorite

09:11Jet Set Radio.

09:12While there is a brand new game in development, there's also a full, from-the-ground-up

09:17remake of the original game on the way.

09:20There isn't much known about it as of writing.

09:23We've seen some leaked screenshots and gameplay clips, as well as a few details, like the

09:28fact that it's being built in Unreal Engine 5, which should work wonders with the game's

09:33cel-shaded art style.

09:35Leaks also claim it won't be out until 2026, which admittedly isn't exactly upcoming,

09:41but from its visuals to its gameplay to its music, Jet Set Radio is entirely unique, so

09:47we hope to catch an official glimpse of it soon.
