00:00Hello.
00:01Welcome to your weekend forecast
00:02from the Met Office.
00:03It's been a sunny week so far,
00:06but the weather patterns are all
00:07change. Now, this weekend will
00:09still bring some sunshine,
00:11but overall, it's much cloudier
00:12than it has been.
00:13And most places are going to see
00:15some showers, too.
00:16And in some spots, those showers
00:17could be on the heavy side.
00:19Why the change?
00:20Well, we've replaced high pressure
00:21with low pressure, and it's
00:23kind of coming up from the
00:24southeast, which means our winds
00:26are coming in from the east.
00:27And the North Sea is not warm
00:29at this time of year.
00:30So a cooler feel, which will
00:32really start through Friday,
00:34will continue into the weekend.
00:35And so particularly these eastern
00:36coasts may well stay fairly
00:38misty and murky.
00:39Outbreaks of rain covering
00:41northern England on and off, of
00:42course, Scotland through Saturday
00:44and maybe moving into Northern
00:45Ireland. Further south, maybe a
00:46dry start to the weekend.
00:48But here we could see some
00:50sunshine developing and that will
00:51also then spark some showers.
00:53So it's sunshine and showers
00:55across the south.
00:55Not everywhere will catch one.
00:57You may just stay dry and bright.
00:59And in the sunshine, although not
01:00as warm as it has been,
01:02temperatures could still get into
01:03the high teens, maybe even low
01:0520s in one or two spots.
01:06And the winds won't be as strong
01:07across the south coast.
01:08So it may actually feel a little
01:10warmer here.
01:11But there will be heavy showers
01:12around. The east coast will be
01:13particularly chilly with that
01:15breeze coming in from the North
01:17Sea.
01:18On Sunday, the area of low pressure
01:20is a little closer.
01:21The isobars are spreading out,
01:22though, so the breeze will
01:23probably be a little less.
01:25Now, that means that the showers
01:26may become quite slow moving
01:28across the country on Sunday.
01:30They'll still be hit and miss.
01:31And probably across the south,
01:32it'll be a dry and a bright start
01:34with some sunshine.
01:35Again, a lot of cloud further north
01:37with showers, outbreaks
01:39of rain across the northeast of
01:40Scotland. And then we'll see the
01:41showers developing elsewhere
01:43again.
01:44As I said, hit and miss and not
01:45everywhere seeing those showers and
01:47will again be some places that
01:49avoid them and hang on to the
01:51bright and sunny weather.
01:52It won't be as warm as recent days,
01:54but temperatures still getting up
01:56when the sun's out into the high
01:57teens, maybe the low 20s.
01:59Again, parts of that east coast
02:01where it stays misty and murky
02:02will struggle to get much of a 12
02:04or 13 degrees Celsius.
02:06So a bit of a mixed picture through
02:07the course of the weekend.
02:08Certainly much more cloud, more
02:09showers around than there have been.
02:11But there'll still be some warm
02:13sunshine to be had as well.
