00:00Before joining the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Laos People's Democratic Republic,

00:11President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. first visited the Filipino community in Vientiane.

00:17This was President Marcos' first visit to the country.

00:21President Marcos did not expect that there are so many Filipinos in Laos serving as teachers, engineers, hospitality workers, and other jobs.

00:33I was surprised. I said, no, we have a lot of Filipinos there.

00:38This is their job. This is what they do.

00:42Once again, I saw the proof that Filipinos, no matter where you put them, will be famous.

00:56We are so proud of all of you, and for all the things you do, and for all the ways that you project the Philippines.

01:06There are 2,000 Filipinos in Laos.

01:09400 came to the event, including Aaron Inventor, a 10-year-old teacher in Laos.

01:15Aaron is happy with the time and opportunity given by the President for the Filipinos in Laos.

01:22It's a blessing for us. I've been here 22 years.

01:27It's always a joy for us to feel calm here, to welcome them with open arms.

01:32They are all welcomed here. It's a blessing for us to be able to fellowship with our President, BPM.

01:41President Marcos Jr. also helped overseas Filipino workers and Filipinos abroad.

01:49The Department of Migrant Workers, which is based in Kapakanan by the OFWs,

01:56and the increase of the DMW office, like the one being built in Southeast Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, proves this.

02:03We continue to prioritize the OFWs so that we can protect your rights and rights.

02:13We will ensure that your employment and basic human rights are respected all over the world.

02:20Contracts and contracts are reviewed.

02:23The salary is guaranteed according to the laws of the host country and the Philippines.
