00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. visited the Vienchan Lao People's Democratic Republic.

00:08Here, the President once again gave importance to Filipinos in other countries.

00:19Before attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in the Lao People's Democratic Republic,

00:28President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. first visited the Filipino community in Vienchan.

00:34This is the first time President Marcos visited a country.

00:39The Executive Board did not expect that there are many Filipinos in Laos

00:44who serve as teachers, engineers, hospitality workers, and other jobs.

00:51I was surprised. I said, no, we have a lot of fellow Filipinos there.

00:56This is their job. This is what they do.

00:59That's why it's really clear, once again, that I saw the proof that Filipinos, no matter where you put them, will become famous.

01:13We are so proud of all of you and for all the things you did.

01:17And for all the ways that you project the Philippines.

01:23There are more than 2,000 Filipinos in Laos.

01:26400 attended the event, including the 10-year-old teacher in Laos, Aaron Inventor.

01:33Aaron is happy with the time and opportunity given by the President for the Filipinos in Laos.

01:40It's a blessing for us. I've been here for 22 years.

01:45It's always a joy for us Filipinos here to welcome them with open arms.

01:50All of them are welcomed here.

01:53It's a blessing for us that we can fellowship with President Marcos, Jr.

01:58President Marcos, Jr. also helped overseas Filipino workers and Filipinos abroad.

02:07The Department of Migrant Workers, which is dedicated to the welfare of OFWs,

02:14and the expansion of the DMW office, like the one being built in Southeast Asia, in Bangkok, Thailand.

02:21We continue to prioritize the OFWs so that we can protect their rights and welfare.

02:30We will make sure that your employment and basic human rights are respected all over the world.

02:37Contracts are reviewed and passed.

02:40Wages are ensured in accordance with the laws of the host country and the Philippines.

02:46As a blessing for the Filipinos, the Filipino singer-songwriter, Florante,

02:52sang a song for our fellow Filipinos.

02:56O Serizal, when did you return?

03:01He preached to our country.

03:08To my beloved Filipinos here in Laos,
