00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and other leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN,

00:08and external partners in the formal opening of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Laos, People's Democratic Republic.

00:20The ASEAN Summits this year are focused on the theme of Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,

00:26which is part of the commitment of the PDR of Laos to build a more connected and more stable ASEAN.

00:34It is expected that the three-day summit will discuss the various issues affecting the region,

00:41including the situation in Myanmar, Ukraine, the Korean Peninsula, Gaza, and other geopolitical challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

00:52President Marcos first said that he will support the digital economy, support MSMEs, renewable energy, and address the effects of climate change.
