00:08the London Underground by the end of 2025. The start date for the first of a fleet of

00:1494 air-conditioned walk-through trains was confirmed on Thursday by the Chief Executive

00:20of Simeons, the rail firm that is building the new rolling stock. The new train will

00:26be the first deep-level tube in the capital to have air-conditioning.

00:33Rail passengers using London's Euston station are being put in danger from high levels of

00:38overcrowding, a transport watchdog has said. London Travel Watch said the station, which

00:44hosts services to and from places such as Birmingham, Liverpool and Glasgow, was struggling

00:50to cope when services were delayed. The watchdog said that despite meeting with the station's

00:57owner, Network Rail, to voice its concerns, passengers were still having to rush to platforms

01:03because of last-minute announcements, while staff often appeared overwhelmed by the sheer

01:09number of people.

01:13London Mayor Sadiq Khan is set to call on the government to invest in new transport

01:17projects costing billions of pounds. Mr Khan is also expected to say it is looking increasingly

01:24positive the High Speed 2 railway will reach Euston and not terminate at Old Oak Common.

01:33And finally, London-Liverpool Street, the busiest station in the country, will close

01:37its doors for over a week during the Christmas period, Network Rail has confirmed. The London

01:44station will close on Christmas Day, with services not resuming until Thursday 2nd January.
