00:09pled guilty mid-trial over a plan to import one kilogram blocks of cocaine into the city via
00:15banana boxes. It has been said the Glaswegian ran a drug trafficking operation on an industrial and
00:21global scale and has been linked to Ecuador, Spain, Abu Dhabi, London and Rochester and Kent.
00:27The plan to import the drugs was initiated in a popular Alicante hotel in February 2020
00:32when Stevenson met with a Glasgow fruit trader named David Bilsland. Through a cross-border
00:37investigation, plans were disrupted when French officers infiltrated an encrypted chat network
00:43in April 2020 and subsequently seized 18 consignments of bananas addressed to Glasgow
00:49fruit market between May and September 2020. A number of associates have also pled guilty
00:55and are subjected to jail sentences.
