Dean Asistio file their respective certificates of candidacy for re-election, with Malapitan running under the Nacionalista Party and Asistio under the Lakas-CMD. Meanwhile, former Malabon City Rep. Ricky Sandoval files his CoC as Malabon's lone district representative.

01:00I bring to Congress a wealth of experience already. I've served Congress for four terms, and during those years, I have made Malabon into a city. All the major legislative agenda of Malabon is from me. Cityhood of Malabon, the construction of a new hospital, San Lorenzo Regional Hospital.
01:29We will have a new Malabon National Science and Mathematics High School. It will be independent of our school. I want to see a more permanent solution to flooding. I want to see better flood control brought in by the national government.
