Dy not Palace choice  House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos 3rd said that Isabela Rep. Faustino ‘Bojie’ Dy was not chosen by Malacañang but was elected to lead the House of Representatives by majority of the lawmakers.  He also said that any reforms by the House of Representatives must be "institutional" amid public perception that there are ‘crocodiles’ at the House of Representatives. 00:04and update you all as to the goings-on of the House. I think it's no secret as to what's

00:10transpired. The vote for the speakership is currently ongoing. I just cast mine for

00:19Congressman Faustino Bojiti III being the lone nominee for Speaker of the House.

00:25First of all, it was not a matter of being chosen by Malacanang. Aside from that, kung Tovi

00:30said ayaw niya, and kung Albi gave way for kung Bojiti. How this works is, of course,

00:38it's a game of numbers, the magic number being 158. Kinausap at tinanong po namin ang mga

00:44party leaders kung sino sa tingin nila ang pwede maging Speaker kapalit ni Speaker Martin

00:49Romualdez. At ang pangalan na lumabas lagi ay ang pangalan po ni Congressman Bojiti.

00:54We are a collegiate body. The Speaker is Primo Sinterpares and he serves at the pleasure

01:00of the majority. So, nung lumabas po ang pangalan ni Congressman Bojiti, yan po ang na-nominate

01:07bilang Speaker of the House.

01:08Of course, the House appreciates that the incoming Speaker is supportive of the President's agenda

01:18and programs. Pero again, this is a two-equal branch of government which Malacanang respects,

01:23which the Executive respects. So, nasa pong na po. Kung ano man ang gusto nila, kung sino man.

01:30Nakasabi ko lang ma'am. The Speaker asked for a meeting with the President and he gave his

01:35resignation and said that it was an honor to work with him and that he was stepping down

01:42to ensure the independence of the Independent Commission and so to protect the institution,

01:49for people not to say that he was using his influence to influence the ICI.
