Latest on Elland Road expansion plans after Leeds United announce intention to turn home stadium into a 53,000-seater

00:08Was that Monday that came out in the evening?

00:11It felt like it was early in the week, but the days all meld into one in my life.

00:17I mean, yeah, I think people will see it as positive news.

00:20Not a lot of people are saying, you know, this is stupendous

00:24and they're not doing cartwheels and backflips like Ramazani.

00:29But it is more flesh on the bone.

00:33And I think it's more of a commitment on record from the 49ers that we are doing this.

00:37You know, you don't commit to spend 10 million, get into the planning approval stage

00:42and then say, you know what, actually, we don't fancy building a stadium.

00:47They just don't strike me as that kind of people.

00:51They are very, very serious about stadium redevelopment.

00:55I can also, on the other hand, understand fans saying, you know,

00:58spades in the ground, please, timeframes.

01:02And that's not there yet.

01:05But it's not going to, you know, it's difficult for them to put a timeframe on something

01:10when it largely is Premier League dependent.

01:13You know, I don't see them increasing the capacity to 53,000

01:20until Leeds are a Premier League club.

01:21I just don't see it.

01:23And you can do all the work in the background and get it ready.

01:27And is it like three years grace period you have after getting permission, planning approval

01:32that you've got to start the work or do the work?

01:36So, you know, they don't have to do the work straight away,

01:38but they can get everything ready to go.

01:40So it is literally, you know, Premier League football, go, start digging.
