00:08avid football fans, avid sports fans I might say, and we were probably seen across various

00:14social media channels, this Barclays man phenomenon. Now, Dave, until I mentioned it had you seen

00:22No, I'd seen it because the confirmations and the videos are showing like, so they're

00:27not the best footballers in the world, they're not the ones that we all, they're the ones

00:30that streets won't forget.

00:31Well they're obviously quite good, yeah streets won't forget is a good term, but they're obviously

00:35quite decent because they played professional football.

00:37But it's almost better that they had like this moment in the Premier League that was

00:40fantastic but they didn't go on to do amazing things, not all of them anyway, like Michu's

00:45a good example, I think he's the one that everyone knows, he had one fantastic season

00:49at Swansea and then does anyone know where his career went from there?

00:52He returned to, no he went to Napoli I think, and then he went to Spain and then went to

00:58He never found the form he did in the Premier League that one season though did he, and

01:01I think that's what sums up a perfect Barclays man.

01:04So the Barclays man, the name is obviously coined because, I think I actually had a quick

01:09look at this and gold.com did a great feature on it and it was, anyone that was playing

01:15within the Premier League when Barclays was the main sponsor, so that's where the Barclays

01:19man name comes from.

01:20So anyway, it got my grey matter ticking over and I thought we can shamelessly rip this

01:25off and use it for the Mags Football Podcast as Barry Owen means, and I've come up with

01:31the Canadiens, well if they don't give us a couple of quid after this I don't know what

01:37else we're going to do, the Canadiens, which is my humble attempt to mark or celebrate

01:46the Can-A-Life Premier League's Barry Owen called heroes.

01:50Yeah, so we're sort of looking at the 2010 onwards, 2020, so that sort of decade.

01:59Yeah, Can-A-Life came on in 2007 we think.

02:02Yeah, I can't remember, I'm sure it was the initial Premier League sponsor, and then Can-A-Life

02:07came on after they'd sponsored the men's team.

02:09So we're sort of looking at that era aren't we?

02:12So I came up with a list and I've profiled three called heroes.

03:53Well, so I said, actually Julian was, you're sort of stealing away from my written work

04:10Yeah, because some of the players on that George's team perhaps would have a day off

04:15Julian Wrigham, I assume, from what you've told me, from what you've been speaking about

04:19in the office this week about Julian Wrigham.
