Joey Graziadei Talks Successful First DWTS Performance & Stepping Outside His Comfort Zone

'Bachelor' alum Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson chat with THR after the premiere of 'Dancing With the Stars' and dish on that successful first performance. Plus, he talks stepping outside his comfort zone and long-term goal.

00:00Night one is in the books. We did really well with sevens. Was it as hard easier than you imagined?

00:05How do you feel? It was definitely hard. I'm not going to act like it wasn't easy.

00:09I'm lucky to have her. She's been putting me to work the last couple of weeks and I really just

00:14been trying to listen and do her proud. So that's all I've been thinking of the entire time.

00:18How did he do as far as your expectations? He did better than I expected. This is such an

00:22intimidating show, first of all, and we went first and there's nothing scarier night one

00:28premiere night to go first. I'm so proud of how he just executed everything. But more importantly,

00:34he had fun. He was smiling through and through. So I'm over the moon. We love to hear it. What

00:40are your own personal goals that you have going into this season that you want to achieve?

00:44Yeah, I first wanted to step outside my comfort zone. That was the real idea of all this. But

00:48then after meeting Jenna, after feeling good about where we were at, we've had a goal to

00:51make the finale. No Bachelor guys ever made the finale before. So that's the first goal.

00:56And then it comes after that. We'll make some other ones, hopefully. Yeah, I'm on board with

01:00that. And then from your time on The Bachelor, is there anything that you learned that you're

01:04bringing into your experience here on how you carry yourself or handle things differently or

01:09the same? It's so different. But the one thing that I would say is similar is that feeling you

01:14have before a live show on The Bachelor. I had that same feeling for tonight, but it's different

01:19because I have to perform here on The Bachelor. I'm just myself and I just kind of talk through

01:22how I'm feeling. But that like butterfly feeling in your stomach, a lot of people don't get that

01:27feeling anymore. So it's really cool to get it again doing something like this. And I don't know,

01:30I'm gonna chase that feeling each time. And then finally, so now that you have the first episode

01:35out of the way, are you feeling like, okay, I've got a good handle on the rest of the season? Or

01:38is it making you a little more like, all right, this is the work I had to put in? Yeah, I'm not

01:43gonna get cocky in any way. I'm so excited that we got three sevens. I know we have a lot of work

01:47to do to get into next week. And I'm just gonna keep listening to her.
