00:00They were presented at the 50th edition of the Cernobbio Forum and the results of the Global Attractiveness Index 2024, developed by the European House Ambrosetti,
00:14which takes into account the indicators of openness, innovation, equipment and efficiency of the various countries and sees Italy placing 17th on 146, gaining a position compared to last year.
00:26Amazon has welcomed the indications from the research on which it is already working.
00:31The company is in fact investing to make its activities more sustainable, electrifying the network of transports and delivery services and moving volumes on maritime and railway transport.
00:40It is also collaborating with institutions and partners through a constructive dialogue between the public and the private sector and offering innovative digital tools to support small and medium-sized Italian businesses.
00:51Amazon continues to invest heavily in Italy. Since our arrival in our country in 2011, we have invested almost 17 billion euros in infrastructure, logistics and technology
01:04and we have created 18,000 jobs, which will become 19,000 by the end of 2024, giving a great boost to the country's economy and above all to the small and medium-sized businesses with which we work.
01:18We have about 21,000 of them that sell every day through the Amazon website.
01:24In fact, here in Cernobbio we have presented new data that show the boost that Amazon gives to SMEs, which in 2023 have reached 1.2 billion exports,
01:36an increase of 25% compared to the previous year, so a very positive, very significant data.
01:44And one of the things that we like the most is the fact that the companies that have begun to export have grown significantly,
01:54they have gone from 50% to 65% last year and this is the result of our investments and also the result of our efforts in the training of our entrepreneurs.
02:05So very positive data that obviously pushes us to continue working along this same path.
02:12The Global Attractiveness Index 2024 reports on a moving Italy committed to improving the regulatory and infrastructural context.
02:20With the strategic contribution of multinationals and a focus on innovation and sustainability, the country has the opportunity to continue to grow, strengthening its position among the most competitive economies.
