00:00When I had a PC a long time ago I got quite hooked to The Sims and when I got
00:06my PS1 I got hooked to Theme Hospital, so I've been curious about Little Cities.
00:11The menu is simple, play the campaign or sandbox mode. It has a nice adjustable
00:18table in front of you where you will see all your islands laid out. Controls are
00:24well laid out and easy to remember. There's a nice tutorial to take you
00:28through it all at the beginning as you start your first island. The story is
00:32pretty simple, build cities and keep your people happy. Once you have built a city
00:38you move on to the next one. As you build and grow you start level enough and as
00:44you level up you start unlocking more stuff to build, like fire and police
00:50departments, school, town hall and airports. Each island will offer slightly
00:57different things and in some levels you get to upgrade some of the buildings
01:02also, so your police department goes from a 1 to a 2 and then a 3. Also you earn
01:09style points by placing things like deck chairs, art statues and parks. If you
01:14place them next to certain buildings you get extra style points, then as you
01:19level up they unlock more items like shops, beach stuff, football and baseball
01:26stadiums, museums, a racetrack and plenty of other stuff. The size is pretty decent
01:32it gave me about 90 minutes of playtime for the first island and about two hours
01:38for the second island, but this is going to depend on your pace. There are five
01:44islands all together but there is also a DLC snow expansion pack if you decide
01:51you want a little bit more. I must admit it's quite satisfying to watch your city
01:57come to life, especially when you zoom in straight down to the streets. The
02:01graphics could be a little bit better but it is what it is.
02:05Seeing the planes fly by and the ships go out, fire department putting out fires,
02:11watch out for that volcano that erupts every so often and spits out huge lava
02:16balls which takes out your buildings. I wish there was a mode that would cycle
02:21through night and day though, just to add a different element of viewing. Also I
02:27feel the scale could be a bit better on things such as the football stadiums,
02:31baseball stadiums and parks as they are currently smaller than the houses. But
02:38overall this is a pretty fun game that you will get lost in and it will eat up
02:43hours of your time. So I scored this game a 24 out of 30 and you can find my
02:51scoring system in the description below. Now please enjoy the rest of this
