00:00U-Boat The Silence Wolf I was quite excited for this game as it's
00:11a different concept to the old shoot em ups. Playing through the intro tutorial missions
00:16was exciting and quite fun, sometimes a little daunting with all the submarine teams but
00:22I couldn't wait to start the full missions. But then the realisation was I was slowly
00:28disappointed. The submarine looks great but the characters don't do anything. Laziest
00:35crew ever. Missions are basic, sneaking up on enemy ships then measuring the distance
00:42and launching off torpedoes. Jumping on the gun out front was exciting too when you could
00:47get out there. But because of your lazy ass crew, if you are in close combat you find
00:53yourself having to bang out repairs and then pump out water most of the time. I feel like
00:58I spent more time pumping out water than blowing up enemies.
01:03So let me save you some time. Don't bother using the torpedoes, use the front cannon.
01:11You will complete this game in an hour. Weapons are what you expect, torpedoes, cannons
01:18on the front and a gun mounted up top. Enemies are just ships and the occasional plane, that's
01:25if you ever get to see them. The map looks huge when looking at it in the submarine but
01:32you fast travel to the destinations and they really do look all the same so there's nothing
01:38exciting there. The controls are easy enough to master but the controls of the submarine
01:44are a little trickier and may take some time to get used to. But there's definitely a sense
01:49of satisfaction when you blow an enemy destroyer ship out of the water.
01:54I tried playing this online, 4 people on the sub but it was just a mess, glitchy, people
02:01walking over each other, 2 people trying to control the same gun. I felt like I was competing
02:06against my online shipmates rather than the game enemies. There was also a lot of cutting
02:11out because of the host issues. This game has bags of potential but it needs
02:17a lot of work to get up to a standard of what a quest game should be at. I was excited about
02:23this game coming out but now I've played it I just don't feel excited about returning
02:28back to it. I hope any future updates will make this game more playable, more planes
02:34to shoot out of the sky, more ships, more explosions near your submarine for a better
02:39effect and feeling like you're in the fight. But until then I just don't see me returning
02:45to it. As I said, if you just use your front canal you will complete the game within an
02:50hour then you can move on to the side missions etc.
