00:00Guyana Amazon Warriors were put in a bad by defending champions Barbados Royals
00:04in the WCPL opener in Taruba. Captain Lauren Winfield Hill
00:11hit the first ball for four. A little bit of swing but two full and two straight
00:15and the first ball. Natasha McLean played an injurious shot and was caught for 11
00:20to give Kiana Joseph the scalp. Is gone and I wonder if it's that bounce once
00:25again. Winfield Hill was bowled by Aaliyah Alleyne for 10. Knocked her over this
00:29time straight as a die. Then there was a 41 run partnership between Stefani
00:34Taylor and Erin Burns. Burns was gone for 15 giving Joseph her second wicket.
00:43Taylor was still there and went on to top score with 38. Lovely compact
00:48swing into the onside. Amanda Jade Wellington took two wickets in one over
00:52to make it 105 for 6. Alleyne was the pick of the bowlers grabbing
00:58three in the innings. Captain Hayley Matthews
01:06took two herself in the final over as Guyana Amazon Warriors were restricted
01:10to 118 for 9 from 20 overs. Speaking of Matthews when the ladies in pink
01:15responded she started off positively. The Barbados Royals lost their
01:23first wicket at 29 as Georgia Red Mean was magnificently caught by Burns of
01:28Shabnam Ismail for 6. More trouble as Naya Lachman also joined the wicket
01:34taking party. When Ismail took her second wicket Barbados Royals were
01:41struggling at 50 for 4 in the 11th over. Kiana Joseph joined Matthews and they
01:46put on 42 for the Bajan franchise. Joseph was bowled by Ismail for 24.
01:56Make that 4 for Ismail as Chanel Henry was bowled cheaply. While wickets were
02:04falling around her Matthews got to a half century in style. With seven to get
02:13of the final over there was more drama with the run out of Shabika Gajnabi for
02:17no score. When it came down to two from two Matthews got a job done to be
02:26unbeaten on 61. Barbados Royals reached 119 for 9 of the penultimate delivery to
02:32win the nail-biter by one wicket.
