00:00Hello everybody, Toronto here, and welcome to episode 3 of the patch 1.49 roundup series.
00:05Now today we're going to look at the next two devblog articles, but we're also going
00:09to have a quick look at the preliminary patch notes.
00:12Now I'm going to go through the devblog articles first, and then we'll do the patch notes.
00:17Now the first articles are about the Seafire FR-47 and the Seafury FB-11.
00:24Says here, perhaps the most interesting aircraft we are adding to the British tree in the weapons
00:29of victory update, the FR-47 with a unique contra-rotating propeller which neutralises
00:35the flow swirl effect, which is present in other single engine aircraft where stability
00:40and torque effect is not so critical, and they're showing the FB-11 which is one of
00:45the fastest production piston aircraft in existence.
00:49Now it's going to be in tier 1, and it has four 20mm Mk5 Hispano cannons, 120 rounds
00:57per barrel in the internal cannons, and 110 in the external cannons.
01:02You can mount 500lb bombs under each wing, so I'm assuming two 500lb bombs, and possible
01:08to attach Mk8 or Mk9 rockets in twos or fours for each wing.
01:12You can see here some of the naval aspects like the hook, and there you can see the cannons.
01:18Says here, final most highly rated model for the Seafire, and the main feature is the two
01:22coaxial propellers that rotate in different directions, and this will be the only aircraft
01:26with that propeller design at the moment.
01:28You can see it here in this picture, so one's rotating right and one's rotating left presumably.
01:34Now we move on to the Seafire, Seafury FB-11, again armed with four 20mm Mk5 Hispano cannons,
01:43and 145 rounds per barrel, and it will be in tier 4, it will close the 4th rank, so
01:50I assume that means it's in tier 4.
01:53Piston payload is up to 2,000lb, or 900kg.
01:57You can mount bombs of 1,000lb on each underwing pylon, either two 250lb and two 500lb, or
02:04two 1,000lb bombs.
02:06In FB mode, possible to load 12 3-inch guided rockets, with 60lb warheads.
02:12You can see there, taking off from an aircraft carrier, launching rockets.
02:16Last piston-engined fighter used in the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm, one of the fastest production
02:22piston aircraft ever built.
02:24It could only be this aircraft that closes the 4th rank of carrier-based aircraft, and
02:30will be the last step before proceeding to carrier-based fire jets.
02:35Here they just talk about how some of the design work and modelling about the cooling
02:39flaps and that they didn't have much information on it.
02:42Apparently it sort of works a bit differently to other aircraft from what I can read here.
02:48The link to this article will be in the description with the others, if you want to read through
02:51it in more detail of course, but going back, we're going to move on to the planned aircraft
02:56structural improvements, so we'll click here.
03:00Continue to work on improvements to the aircraft damage model.
03:03Transition for the calculation of structural strength of the aircraft from the simplified
03:06system to a more detailed one.
03:09As a result of the new system, you will see significant changes in the behaviour of aircraft
03:13in collisions, as well as during emergency landing.
03:16It will be more difficult to harm a heavy bomber by ramming it while flying a light
03:20aircraft, and the correct execution of the bailey landing will damage the aircraft just
03:25slightly with the possibility to fully repair it and return to battle again.
03:29With the introduction of the new system in structural strength of aircraft, they're also
03:33going to improve the module display.
03:35You'll be able to see the status of each module in each part of the aircraft while in battle.
03:39Therefore you'll be able to determine the status of the vehicle much more accurately
03:42than ever before.
03:44Now this seems to be the X-ray model.
03:46It seems to be a little bit different, because it seems to be showing the whole wing.
03:51They did have this in one of the dev servers for a previous patch, and it just showed the
03:55modules like engines, gunners, fuel tanks.
03:58They didn't have the whole wing, so they seem to have changed it a little bit there at least.
04:03Again I'll link you to this article so you can watch the videos and read in more detail.
04:09Now leaving the dev blog articles, we're on the preliminary patch notes for patch 1.49.
04:14Again they're not final.
04:16Now I'll quickly give a quick read through them.
04:20The Americans are getting the Sky Raider and two P-51s, the P-51A and the D-10.
04:25Now the D-10, if I'm correct, is a premium.
04:27I'm not sure how you unlock it.
04:29I think a lot of these premiums you get in a bundle, but I don't know what the bundle
04:32is, so I can't really give too much information on that.
04:35The Russians are going to be getting the Yak-9M, lots of R-2s, the 1943, 1942, and
04:41the 1943 AIM-38.
04:44Now I believe some of these are replacing existing models, so they're not necessarily
04:48all new aircraft.
04:49The Yak-9T and 9K are getting new models.
04:52The R-28 is getting a cockpit, and we're getting the Dolgashin's NA-7, which is again a premium.
05:00Germany's getting the Arado 234 C-3, which has four engines and 20mm cannons, the Bf-109B,
05:07which is an early Bf-109, and the HS-129 has got a cockpit.
05:12Now Britain seems to have got the most aircraft.
05:14We've got the Firefly Mk1 and Mk5, the Seafire Mk17, I believe it is, the FR-47, the Sea
05:23Fury FB-11, the Attacker FB-1, the Canberra's getting a cockpit, the Sea Gladiator Mk1,
05:29the Hurricane Mk1B and Mk1C, and two premiums, the Plagis' Spitfire LF Mk9 and Pentagrast's
05:38Spitfire Mk14E.
05:41Japan's getting some new vehicles as well, or aircraft, the J-2M2 and the Ki-21 Light
05:46Bomber, or Medium Bomber.
05:49Now in ground forces, it's America and Russia who are getting the most of the new vehicles.
05:54America's getting its tank destroyer line, the M2A2, which is actually a vehicle armed
05:59with machine guns, but it's the start of the tank destroyer line, 75mm M3GMC, the half
06:05track we looked at before, M18GMC, or the Hellcat, T95, which I believe is the new tank
06:13destroyer at tier 5, and the T28, which I believe is the premium, or it may be the other
06:17way around, but they're basically the same vehicle, it's just one has two tracks and
06:21one has four.
06:22Also the M10GMC, otherwise known as the Wolverine, M18 Black Cat, which is a premium, and the
06:28M5A1 5th Armoured Division, I think that's a Canadian division, which is again a premium
06:35I believe.
06:36Germany's getting the Stur 42G, which is a Stug G with a 105mm cannon, or howitzer.
06:44Russia's getting the 4M GAZ AAA, basically a truck with four Maxim machine guns, which
06:49fires ridiculously fast.
06:51The SU-57, again I think that's a premium, it's a half track with a 57mm gun.
06:58The SU-122-54, which is a T-54 with a 122mm gun, T-34-85E and the T-34E STZ.
07:09The 85E I believe is a premium, and the STZ is in the normal tech tree.
07:14The IS-2 Avenger and the SU-76M are also premiums.
07:19So that's all the aircraft and tanks.
07:21We've got three new maps, Berlin, Normandy and Hürtgen.
07:26Berlin's going to be available for Domination, Battle and Capture, Normandy for Domination,
07:30Battle, Breakthrough and Capture, and Hürtgen Forest for Domination, Battle and Capture.
07:37Also been some changes to ground forces maps, Poland, a rocky ledge on the north-eastern
07:42area of the lake has been added, minor balance changes.
07:46Many changes have been taking place on this location, for better gameplay balance new
07:51hills and covers have been added, riverbed has been reworked.
07:55Daily awards interface has been changed, leaving the maps for a sec, format of information
08:00regarding damage to enemy vehicles has been changed, I did see that a little bit in the
08:07test server, I don't know what to make of it so far.
08:10Penetration characteristics of armour piercing and APCR shells have been changed.
08:15Penetration of all shells is now calculated for a single method, almost all the shells
08:18can now penetrate thicker non-sloped armour than before, but are considerably less effective
08:24against sloped armour.
08:25Armour piercing projectiles of all types now show the worst performance regarding the penetration
08:30of sloped armour.
08:31Amount taken that it takes for a fuel tank fire to cause an explosion has been changed,
08:36a set amount of time before ammunition and fuel tanks may detonate from a fire in other
08:43modules.
08:44After this time has elapsed, the chance of a fuel tank explosion is higher than it previously
08:51was in 1.47.
08:52High explosive shells that were not tracer shells in reality no longer show a tracer
09:07effect in game, 122mm high explosive shells of the D-25T use a reduced propellant charge
09:16instead of a full charge, resulting in a muzzle velocity of 570 metres a second and a steeper
09:21trajectory.
09:22Muzzle velocity of the 90mm AP shells for the M36 and M38A1 cannons have been changed
09:41to 912 metres a second.
09:44Muzzle velocity of German 75mm cannons with a barrel length of .43, .48 and .46 calibres
09:49have been changed.
09:52Maximum muzzle velocity is now featured by the PAK-40, self-propelled gun Marder III.
09:57Visual effects of hits into the ground and on vehicles by projectiles with normal calibre
10:01rounds have been reduced.
10:03Other changes and fixes to ground vehicles, the thickness of the upper frontal arm of
10:07the M4A3E2 with 75mm and 76mm cannons has gone from 25.4cm to 63.5 or 25 inches.
10:20That's a bloody big increase, I don't know why they've done that, I don't know if that
10:23was how it was historically, but that's a massive increase, I don't know how that's
10:28going to affect things in game.
10:31Ammunition load of the Panzer III N, which is a premium, it's a Panzer III of the 75mm
10:37short barrel 75mm gun, has been changed from 56 to 64 shells.
10:44Rotation speed of the Tiger I H1's turret has been increased from 7.5 degrees a second
10:50to 12 degrees, and from the Tiger I E from 7.5 to 14.
10:57Characteristics of the T-35 have been updated, thickness of armour plates, tanks entire mass
11:03and their main turret rotation speed have been fixed, according to a bug report from
11:07Nikon D3X.
11:08I don't know if that means it's better or worse, it doesn't actually say what they've
11:13changed, or how they've changed it.
11:16Ammunition load has been changed for self-propelled guns, IS-122, ISU-122S and all modifications
11:22of the T-54.
11:23Again, I don't know if that means an increase, decrease, or if they've just moved where the
11:27ammunition is stored or something.
11:30Time to change magazine on the M16 self-propelled anti-aircraft has been increased to 14 seconds.
11:37Well we know that's an increase, so presumably that makes it a bit worse.
11:40A bug on multi-turret vehicles which allowed the continuous rotation of the turrets after
11:45drive mechanisms has been destroyed, it's been fixed.
11:48And the ammunition load out of the M41A1 has been changed from 57 to 65 shots.
11:56And we've got a lot of decourse of ground forces, I'm not going to read through all
12:01of them because that would take forever.
12:04So a few changes to flight modes, I'm not going to go through all of them because there's
12:08so many there, it would be here forever if I go through all of them, but I'll link you
12:13to the patch notes so you can read through them.
12:16M1919A4 tank machine gun sound has been updated, same for the DT machine guns, and opening
12:22and closing of the cockpit while flying will result in a more noticeable sound difference.
12:26So that's it for today's episode, sorry it's a bit short but there isn't really much else
12:30to add.
12:31So far the patch does seem to be shaping up quite nicely, I'd definitely be interested
12:36to see how the damage model and aircraft structural improvements go, I'm definitely
12:41looking forward to the American tank destroyers and the fleet air arm, I've been waiting for
12:45them for a long time, especially with the fleet air arm.
12:48But anyway, I hope you enjoyed the episode, leave a like if you did like the episode,
12:53subscribe if you like these sorts of videos, leave feedback, I could always do it with
12:56more feedback.
12:57So thanks for watching, I'll see you next time.
