Wolves FPL picks for 24/25 Premier League season and latest on the transfer front following Pedro Neto’s departure

00:00And looking at Wolves, obviously from an FPL angle as well, one to sort of avoid and two

00:06maybe to get in this season that you could see doing quite well?

00:10I think the ones that I'd probably take a look at getting are Mateus Cunha for one.

00:15I mean, we saw last season just how well he did with his attacking involvements. The hat-trick

00:20against Chelsea was so, so impressive and the way he gets involved in the build-up play

00:24as well, assisting goals, creating opportunities for his teammates. And a 6.5, I mean, there

00:29are other players in that price bracket you might want to take a look at instead. And

00:33I've maybe, I'm kind of contradicting myself here, maybe avoid him at the start of the

00:37season when the fixture is a bit tougher. But when it starts to swing in September and

00:41after the international break, I think Cunha could be a really good option.

00:45Aint Noorie as well, someone who's a defender listed for four and a half million. I think

00:50that's a bit of a bargain. But once again, with the early fixtures, they're not going

00:54to keep many clean sheets, Wolves, or at least you'd expect they wouldn't keep many clean

00:57sheets. But he does get forward down that left-hand side a lot, scores plenty of goals

01:01and gets lots of assists as well. So I'd definitely take a look at him. In terms of avoids, it's

01:07tricky actually, but I'd maybe say Pablo Sarabia for five and a half. It's cheap, I know that,

01:14but there are so many other options in that price bracket. And I don't think his minutes

01:19are going to be as guaranteed this year. There were so many injuries towards the end of last

01:22season. And he was kicking on, he was playing well, to be fair to him. But when you've got

01:26so many young and pacey wingers out there, and Gary O'Neill wants to be direct, I'm not

01:30sure Sarabia is going to be the man.

01:33And let's just look at Wolves' transfer business. Obviously, a lot's changed since we last caught

01:38up. Losing Pedro Neto for 50-plus million pounds, I mean, it's not really the worst

01:44deal in the world, considering he was averaging over his Wolves career 15 games a season due

01:50to injury, which is quite remarkable. So what's your take on that? And then obviously, you've

01:54got to look at players in with Jorgen Strand-Larsen, quite similar maybe to that signing of Raul

02:00Jimenez, and that worked out so well. He sort of signed a big No. 9 to come in, and he's

02:05slightly unknown from La Liga. Hopefully, everything can go well, because the signing

02:11with Sascha Kolajic isn't quite due to injury.

02:15Yeah, the Kolajic one's disappointing, isn't it? Everyone thought he'd come in and score

02:19bucket loads of goals, because he did in the Bundesliga. Being so tall as well, could he

02:23be that target man, and being unstoppable with his heading ability? But Gary O'Neill's

02:27not really taken to him, whether it's the injury, the long-term injury has maybe taken

02:31a bit out of his legs. I'm not too sure, but no future at Wolves for him, it seems. But

02:35Strand-Larsen, I think, is a promising signing. He's looked decent in pre-season and of course

02:40got I think 12 or 13 goals in La Liga last season. Not a huge return, but considering

02:45his assault of ego, I don't think that's too bad at all. He's someone who's going to get

02:49better as well, he's in his mid-twenties and hopefully going to relish the opportunity

02:53of playing in the Premier League. In terms of the exits, I mean, Pedro Neto, every time

02:58he was on the ball, he was just lighting up the pitch, fans off their seats, one of the

03:02fan favourites. But the problem is, he wasn't very much on the pitch. As you said, he only

03:06averaged about 10 or 15 games a season. And considering that's the case, to get over £50

03:12million for him, I think is a great deal. Some fans might disagree with that, saying

03:17maybe he could get more because on his day and in his peak, he can be one of the best

03:21wingers in the Premier League and he can still get better. But it's just that reliability.

03:25He doesn't have it. He's so injury prone and as a result, I think it's a decent deal for

03:29Wolves. Max Kilman to get, what was it, £45 million or £40 million from West Ham United.

03:34It's a big loss to lose your captain and he was so consistent in defence. But then again,

03:39I don't think his ceiling was that high. That might be a bit of a controversial thing, but

03:43I just don't think he was that good for that price. I think you've got to snap your hands

03:48off for that, haven't you?
