00:07was charged at the Alor Gajah Magistrate's Court on Monday with murder.

00:20Based on the charge sheet, the 36-year-old former teacher allegedly murdered Istikoma
00:26at a roadside along Kampung Tanjung Rimau in Pulau Sebang between December 26th and
00:32December 31st last year.
00:34The charge was made under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a death sentence
00:38or jail between 30 and 40 years and whipping upon conviction.
00:43Deputy Public Prosecutor Nazrin Ali Rahim prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
00:49The court denied bail and fixed October 22nd as the next mention date.
00:55On January 6th, the media reported the discovery of a woman's headless and dismembered body
01:00inside a bin in Pulau Sebang.
01:03Police later identified the remains as Istikoma through DNA tests conducted by Bukit Aman
01:09on August 2nd.
01:11Based on the new lead, Melaka Police launched an in-depth investigation together with their
01:16Johor counterparts before arresting a married couple, aged 36 and 37, in Perak on August 5th.
01:25The male suspect then led to the discovery of more body parts of the victim's remains,
01:30about six kilometres from where the victim's body was found.
01:34The suspect's wife was released on police bail after it was found that she had no connection
01:39with the case.
01:40The victim's family members are expected to claim her remains at the Melaka Hospital later
01:45on Monday to be brought to her hometown in Pasir Mas, Kelantan for burial.
