00:14was arrested Thursday in connection with Perry's accidental overdose, while other
00:18reports from the Associated Press, TMZ and ABC News are saying that multiple arrests were made.
00:24The charges will be announced at a news briefing later in the day with the U.S.
00:28Attorney for Los Angeles and the DEA Administrator.
00:31The criminal probe launched in May, tracing the actor's acquisition of the illegal drug,
00:36which has been used recreationally for decades,
00:39but has recently been discovered as broadly useful in the treatment of depression.
00:43Perry's body was found by an assistant after he had drowned in a swimming pool's hot tub
00:48at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, after the lethal dose of ketamine
00:52caused him to have cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.
00:57The medical examiner's office lists the acute effects of the drug as the main cause of his
01:01death and added drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine,
01:06a drug used to treat opioid use, as contributing factors.
