00:00An elderly couple and their 11-year-old granddaughter died in a house fire at Kampung Paya Redan
00:06in Pago.
00:07MUAR OCPD Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukliz Azman Aziz reported that the fire broke out
00:14at around 1.30 a.m. on Friday, according to a witness.
00:18The victims were identified as 82-year-old Mohamed Noor Mohamed Yassin, 76-year-old Ara
00:24Abdul Hamid and 11-year-old Noradriana Noor Hisham.
00:29In a statement, ACP Raiz Mukliz confirmed that the elderly couple was pronounced dead
00:34at the scene, while Noradriana succumbed to her injuries at Sultana Fatima Specialist
00:40Hospital.
00:42Another occupant of the house, 14-year-old Norazima Mohamed Radi, suffered a head injury
00:48and is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
00:51By the time the fire was fully extinguished at 4.15 a.m., the partially wooden house had
00:56been 85 percent destroyed.
01:00Pago Fire and Rescue Department Operations Commander Suhairulayar Saris reported that
01:05the charred bodies of the elderly couple were discovered at 2.40 a.m. and the injured children
01:10were provided first aid before being rushed to the hospital.
