00:02Oh my gosh, when are we ever going to get to pet this dog?

00:05I was not prepared for the level of challenge.

00:10Fawn was dumped on a beach in Puerto Rico.

00:14She was just so scared of people.

00:22How do you feel about picking up Fawn?

00:23Oh my gosh, it's coming so soon.

00:26I feel like I'm going on a blind date with someone

00:29who is going to live with me forever.

00:33Waiting for Fawn felt like Christmas morning

00:36when you're a kid.

00:37We do have a stocking for her.

00:40It feels like sort of bittersweet.

00:43Lola!

00:45We had just lost our dog Lola.

00:47Lola was so special to us and even

00:49helped mend our relationship through hard times.

00:52She was also a very chill and easygoing dog,

00:55but we weren't prepared for how different Fawn would be.

00:59Tomorrow we're getting Fawny, or the Fawnster,

01:02the Fawn's Fawn.

01:06We're officially 15 minutes from the airport.

01:10I was just so excited I could barely stand it.

01:13Just really excited and nervous.

01:16We're about to meet our baby.

01:18Hi, honey girl.

01:19You ready to go see mom and dad?

01:20When we met her, they carried her out.

01:23You're doing really good.

01:25She was so scared of us and everything around her.

01:29Yeah, she's nervous.

01:32All right, we just got home.

01:34She immediately got in her dog bed.

01:37Want to respect her boundaries and her pace.

01:39And she wouldn't move for the whole night.

01:45She's grabbing toys and bringing them back under there.

01:50She just wouldn't let us get anywhere near her.

01:53Come on, baby girl.

01:55This is Fawn's first pajama party.

01:58This is a huge win that she's sitting with us.

02:01We would start laying on the floor

02:03to try to create a space for her that she might be willing

02:07to come out and sit with us.

02:13Shelby was the first person she flopped down onto.

02:17My goodness.

02:18We called it the Fawn Flop.

02:20It wasn't too long before she was flopping on you.

02:25Then it was like overnight.

02:27She was suddenly a wild puppy.

02:31It was like she was getting tap and puppyhood again.

02:38Fawn has opened up in so many ways with us.

02:42Smells like she worked overtime at the burrito factory.

02:46We're taking our first woods walk with Fawn.

02:48Going on adventures with us, even.

02:55Yes.

02:56I love training with her.

02:57And she loves doing tricks.

02:59And it's so nice to see her proud of herself.

03:04Our bond is even stronger because I have to really work

03:08to be trustworthy for her.

03:13Having Fawn around has just brought so much fun
