00:12I'm Jackie, a producer at the Dodo, and I couldn't believe this rescue.
00:17We noticed a stray near our sanctuary who was clearly a new mom,
00:21but we couldn't find her puppies anywhere. We gained her trust by giving her food and water.
00:30The next day we actually went back to the area because we were so determined to rescue the whole family.
00:38Workers nearby said they had seen puppies in what they called a fox den and they offered to help us
00:43rescue them.
00:47It was a really dangerous situation because we didn't want the ground to cave in on the puppies.

01:04It was such a tight space. I was the smallest person there, so I crawled in to get all of

01:19After a couple of very stressful hours, we finally got all three puppies out.
01:24It was very clear that they had never been touched by a human before.
01:27We took the whole family back to our sanctuary.
01:31And we are currently working on socializing the puppies.
01:49Mom is getting along awesome with all the other dogs and loves to play and go on pack walks.
01:54Our hope is to transfer the whole family to San Diego, where they will be fostered and eventually adopted.
