00:00The Cameron Highlands District Council, CHDC, demolished an illegal Santorini-inspired tourist

00:07attraction on Monday due to the lack of approval from authorities.

00:11In a Facebook post, the CHDC stated that the enforcement action against Cameron Santorini

00:17was carried out in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Roads, Drains and Buildings Act

00:221974, which addresses construction without approval under Act 133.

00:29The operation, which began at 9 a.m. and concluded at 11.30 a.m., was led by CHDC President

00:36Azmil Hadid Maznan and involved CHDC staff, the Cameron Highlands District and Land Office,

00:44the Royal Malaysia Police, the Pahang State Enforcement Unit, the Cameron Highlands Public

00:49Works Department, and Tanaga Nasional Berhad.

00:53The Council expressed hope that this enforcement action would serve as a warning and reminder

00:57to any party intending to undertake development projects to fully comply with the relevant

01:03procedures and regulations currently in force.

01:06Previously, the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin al-Mustafa Billah Shah,

01:13mentioned that the lack of integrity has caused land in the state to be openly colonized by

01:19foreigners.

01:20Citing the example of land in Cameron Highlands, Al-Sultan Abdullah stated that land leased

01:26and rented to farmers is now being rented out to foreigners due to greed and the pursuit

01:31of money, thus compromising integrity.
