00:00Tropical Storm Senyar, which hit several states, has caused 49 cases of fallen trees and claimed
00:09one life in an early Friday morning incident on Jalan Selandar Machap.
00:14Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Director-General Datuk Serinor Hisham Mohamad said the fatal
00:19accident involving a motorcyclist was not directly caused by the storm but occurred
00:25after the victim collided with a tree toppled by the storm's force.
00:29He also reported a structural collapse at the Petron diesel jetty in Port Dixon involving
00:35eight workers.
00:36Negri Sembilan was the worst-hit state, recording one slope collapse, one structural collapse,
00:42and two cases of flooding.
00:44The state also saw 33 cases of fallen trees, followed by Malacca with eight, Selangor 5,
00:51Putrajaya 2, and Perak 1.
00:54Norhisham said that although Senyar has weakened from storm level, the Fire and Rescue Department
00:59remains on alert for further fallen trees and slope collapses, as the ground remains soft
01:04from continuous rain.
01:06He also advised NGOs providing flood assistance to coordinate with the Disaster Operations
01:11Control Centre, or PKOB, to ensure safe operations.
01:17The public is urged to avoid risky areas, including recreational spots for bathing.
