Hottest line on London’s Underground revealed

The Victoria Line has been named as the hottest line on London Underground, with average platform temperatures reaching over 28 degrees in 2023.

00:13average platform temperature across 2023 was 28.2 degrees celsius, although between June

00:20and October the average was 30 degrees. The next warmest lines were the Central line at

00:2626.7 degrees and the Bakerloo at 26 degrees, with the air-conditioned Circle, Hammersmith

00:33City and District and Metropolitan lines the coolest at just 19.3 degrees. TfL says it

00:41has removed heat from our station and tunnel environment by installing new ventilation

00:47or cooling solutions, including doubling the capacity of its 13 ventilation shafts on the
