Two pilots have died when their helicopters collided in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

00:00Two pilots have been confirmed dead after their helicopters collided in Western Australia's
00:07Kimberley region early this morning.
00:10Police say they received a report of a crash at about 6.20 this morning near Mount Anderson
00:15Station which is about 120 kilometres south of Derby.
00:19Police say both pilots, a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, have died.
00:25Police say each of the two cattle mustering helicopters only had one person on board
00:30and early indications suggest the helicopters collided shortly after they took off.
00:35The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified and says they are deploying
00:40a team of transport safety investigators from Canberra and Brisbane to the site.
00:45The Bureau says its investigators will seek to interview any witnesses and collect pilot
00:50and aircraft maintenance records as well as weather information.
00:54The ATSB will release a preliminary report detailing information established from the
00:59investigation's evidence-gathering phase in about two months' time.
01:03WA Police will prepare a report for the coroner and a final report from the ATSB will be released
01:09at the end of its investigation.
