Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa : Belajar dan Nostalgia

Bagian ke-3 dari Vintage Series, Mengunjungi Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa. Dimana kita bisa belajar sekaligus nostalgia era kolonial Belanda. Sebagaimana diketahui museum ini dulunya adalah Stasiun Kereta Api bernama Willem I. Kemudian berganti nama jadi Stasiun Ambarawa setelah Indonesia merdeka.   Stasiun ini merupakan bagian dari lintas Yogyakarta-Ambarawa untuk segmen 1.067 mm dan lintas Kedungjati-Ambarawa di segmen 1.435 mm. Namun sejak 1942 semua rel dirubah menjadi 1.067 mm.   Stasiun Ambarawa masih melayani perjalanan kereta reguler hingga awal dekade 1970-an. Kondisi sarana dan pra-sarana uzur, Persaingan dengan Angkutan Jalan Raya, dan terjadinya bencana alam membuat lintas ini dinon-aktifkan untuk perjalanan reguler.   Sejak tahun 1976 Stasiun ini berubah fungsi menjadi Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa. Dimana terdapat koleksi benda-benda bersejarah terkait perkeretaapian Indonesia. Termasuk koleksi lokomotif uap. Tersedia kereta wisata rute Ambarawa-Tuntang sebagai wahana utama.
