00:00I know now, I was 17 at the time, 18."
00:02Cody Ko's fans are turning on him after Tana Mongeau dropped a bombshell allegation against
00:07him. Is Cody about to get canceled? During a June 2024 live show of Tana Mongeau's Canceled
00:12podcast, the controversial content creator revealed that Cody Ko hooked up with her when
00:16she was only 17 years old. Internet sleuths did the math and concluded that Cody would have been 25
00:21at the time. Cody Ko and Tana have collaborated several times in the past. Most notably,
00:25Tana posted a video with Cody in May 2016. On that date, she would have been 17, suggesting
00:30that this could have been around the time they got together. This wasn't the first time Tana
00:34talked about the situation. Back in 2021, during an episode of her podcast, she revealed that she
00:39hooked up with Cody Ko when she was 17 or 18, not specifying her exact age. While the allegation
00:44garnered a little spread online in 2021, it didn't ultimately make a big impact. And while some
00:49expressed disgust over the allegations, others brushed Tana's claims off, assuming she was lying
00:53due to her controversial online presence and purported tendency to exaggerate. But now, thanks
00:58to the June 2024 live show clip, where Tana seemingly confirmed that she was underage at the
01:02time, people are paying a bit more attention. The clip went viral on TikTok and other content
01:07creators began discussing it, including the H3 podcast, who were shocked to see how so many
01:11people defended Cody against the allegations after they discussed them.
01:14I wonder if he's going to be able to ignore it forever,
01:17or if it's like something that he's going to have to address.
01:20Threads began popping up across Reddit on boards like r-slash-la-influencer-snark and r-slash-youtube-drama,
01:26where users started arguing over whether or not the allegation held any water,
01:30and whether or not Tana could be trusted. Tana hasn't backed down on the allegation.
01:33Shortly after the clip went viral, she appeared on Trisha Paytas' podcast and backed up her claim,
01:38calling it a traumatic moment for her and saying she was inspired to talk about it more openly
01:42after seeing the outpouring of people not believing her because of who she is.
01:46But at the same time, like, if I had a 17-year-old daughter or a little sister or something,
01:50like, I would kill.
01:52Tana says she hopes to empower other women to feel more comfortable coming forward with
01:56their trauma by sticking to her claim no matter how much hate she gets. She also claimed on an
02:00episode of her own podcast that at one point, Cody had texted her after she mentioned the situation
02:04sometime around 2023 and urged her not to start problems with him because his wedding was coming
02:09up. Cody Co has kept silent on the situation and continued to post content, but many of his fans
02:14are demanding answers, with some even claiming they won't watch him anymore unless he addresses
02:18the controversy. All the talk about Tana and Cody has also brought up another past controversy
02:23regarding Cody and his friend Colby, who went to Duke University with him. Colby was the subject
02:27of a lawsuit which alleged that he essayed a girl in college and shared the video around
02:32his fraternity. Cody and his podcast co-host, Noelle Miller, are purportedly still friends
02:37with Colby, and he was allegedly even at Cody's wedding in 2023, adding another disturbing layer
02:42to the Cody Co situation.
02:43Peace!
