00:00I'm so happy to be here because I love comedy, I love the improv, and I really love the prize here.

00:04So thank you all so much for coming out.

00:07I'm going to introduce the class of ten actors to watch, which you obviously just saw,

00:11but we're going to bring them all to the stage and present them with their awards.

00:14Just before I get started, because we do pick so many talented, busy people,

00:19there are two comics who couldn't be here tonight I just want to give a quick shout-out to.

00:23You might know Ralph Barbosa from his many TV appearances.

00:27Yeah. I highly recommend his Netflix special, Cowabunga.

00:32And Troy Iwata, he could not be here tonight because he is making us laugh

00:36through some very challenging political times as a correspondent on The Daily Show.

00:40And they're very busy right now. But both send their regards.

00:45Now please join me as I introduce Variety's 2024 Comics to Watch.

00:51I want to start with, well, if you have a favorite TV show, this person has probably been a part of it.

00:56That includes WandaVision, The Mandalorian, BoJack Horseman,

01:00and it's going to apply to his upcoming Hulu series, Deli Boys, which you are not prepared for.

01:05Please welcome Asaf Ali.

01:07Of course. Just hang out here for a second.

01:23Our next performer you might have seen in commercials or on America's Got Talent.

01:29She is currently on her I'm Coming America tour. She lives up to her name.

01:33Please welcome Jackie Fabulous. She knows how to make an entrance.

01:49We'll give her. You mean the trophy? It is very nice.

01:59It has a nice weight to it. The date and everything.

02:05Well, can't wait to hang this up in my apartment.

02:11We'll go ahead and move on and we'll give Jackie some applause when she gets here.

02:15Next, we have a performer you've probably seen in films like Trainwreck and I Feel Pretty.

02:19I highly recommend you check out her Netflix special Big Guy.

02:23We showcase is not just her comedy, but her wonderful storytelling ability.

02:27Please welcome Rachel Feinstein.

02:39Our next comic studied journalism and theater, so of course I am an instant fan.

02:44You've seen her on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and at too many venues to name,

02:47including the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.

02:50Please welcome Tina Frimmel.

02:58Oh, and Jackie Fabulous, everyone.

03:08Our next comic was actually born in my hometown of Portland, Oregon.

03:12And like me, he lists as one of his major influences, SpongeBob SquarePants.

03:17So it's no surprise, I'm a big fan. You should check out his specials.

03:20My name is Preacher in Get to Know Me. Please welcome Preacher Lawson.

03:36Our next comic has one of those Cinderella stories that sounds like a movie.

03:40She was working in human resources at Netflix for years and she only left that job

03:45after her bosses found her doing stand-up on Netflix.

03:49Of course, when the movie is made, it's going to premiere on Netflix.

03:53Please welcome Leslie Liao.

04:07Our next comedian is behind such wonderful specials as I Wasn't Talking,

04:11Down With Tech, and Money Never Talks, which I just love this praise.

04:15The New York Times said, proves he can be funny on mute.

04:19You can see his series Trapped or listen to his podcast Positive Anger.

04:23Please welcome Nathan McIntosh.

04:34Our final comic also has a great story.

04:36He went from working as a doorman at the Comedy Store to being a regular performer there.

04:41You've seen him on Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents or Catch Him Live discussing important topics.

04:46I love that he still loves Taco Bell. Please welcome Saul Trujillo.
