00:00Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the chair of the Republican Party Committee
00:05on Arrangements, Anne Hathaway from Indiana.
00:18Good evening. My name is Anne Hathaway and on behalf of the 168 members of the
00:25Republican National Committee, the Committee on Arrangements, and the
00:29amazing staff of the Committee on Arrangements, I'm honored to welcome you
00:34tonight and pleased to be among Republicans from every U.S. state and
00:40territory and visitors from over 80 countries from around the world. Over the
00:47next few nights you are going to hear from the best and brightest that our
00:51party and our movement have to offer, from candidates and elected officials,
00:57to entertainment leaders, the business luminaries, grassroots activists, and the
01:03everyday Americans who power our party, united in our common goal to make
01:10America safe again, to make America wealthy again, to make America strong
01:18again, and to make America great again.
01:25Teddy Roosevelt famously said, it's not the critic who counts, the credit belongs
01:33to those who are actually in the arena, whose faces marred by dust, sweat, and
01:40blood. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the arena. Just by participating in this
01:48convention, whether you're a speaker, a delegate, or a viewer at home, you have an
01:55opportunity to engage in the fight for a better future for our children. So I ask
02:01you, as you watch this convention and hear these incredible speakers over the
02:07next few days, to listen, to share the message that resonates with you and
02:16your friends and your family, and to help us channel the incredible energy of this
02:22convention into a resounding victory in November, up and down the ballot,
02:28starting with electing Donald J. Trump as president and J.D. Vance as vice
02:34president.
02:37Make sure your friends, families, and neighbors are registered to vote. Get
02:45your yard signs. Make a plan to get to the polls. The fate of the free
02:52world depends on us giving everything we've got and ensuring that we elect
02:58American first candidates up and down the ballot to every office. Thank you and
03:04God bless America.
