00:00Well, he had two crashes and the impact on his body was just too much to continue to
00:10feel that we should send him out there, that he was good to go.
00:16By saying that, not being a doctor, but talking to the doctor, of course, we can rule out
00:22concussion and fractures.
00:24But then, once again, he had a massive impact from two crashes in a row and that does not
00:31make us believe to continue.
00:33We as a team feel super sorry for him.
00:36He said goodbye to the team, so he was at the team bus this morning.
00:40He wished everybody luck.
00:42He did thank everybody for the support, riders and stuff.
00:46I think it's really important to him that it's recognized what we all try to do here.
00:54And now the team needs to find new goals.
00:58We had our team meeting now and, of course, with not knowing if he would start or not
01:02first-hand, we need to redefine ourselves.
01:08But nevertheless, we have six world-class riders here and there's still a lot to do
01:12and the tour is over in Nice.
01:14Today is wind, today is a chance of a breakaway, tomorrow is a mountain stage, which maybe
01:21isn't controlled all the time.
01:24So we have to reset, because I think out of respect for the race, out of respect for
01:29all these guys in the bus, who also spent already like 10 weeks away from home with
01:34altitude and preparation, we should not give up on that and define new goals.
01:39I think that stage 11 was the one that really made us really optimistic for the upcoming
01:46mountain days, because that was where we have seen a Primoz with self-confidence, with maximum
01:52fighting spirit, with a very positive attitude, with the team believing in him.
02:00And I do think that was a very, very good stage for us.
02:05And the other stages, we approached it pretty conservative, everybody has seen that, just
02:11to get through it.
02:12So when we were about to kick off the tour, ready to go, unfortunately the tour ended
02:17for Primoz.
02:18I'm really, really disappointed for him, really sad for him.
02:23I didn't speak to him yet, but I read just before the start, when we came here, that
02:31he didn't start today.
02:33It's really a shame for the race, because he was really going good and it would be a
02:41great battle until the end for the final victory.
02:46I think Primoz was not too far back actually, he was quite well-positioned.
02:50It was just a bit of a shitty situation with Litsenko that went over that little bump.
02:57But in the end, we cannot blame anybody or anything for that crash, it was just a combination
03:02of bad luck and a position where the crash happened.
03:07So it's a shame that it happened, especially with a big GC guy, it's always a shame no
03:13matter which guy is in the crash.
03:16But I think it's a good example to be focused every day again.
03:20It seems he really is followed by bad luck, but what is impressive about him, he always
03:26fights back.
03:28So there are people who think, oh bad luck, and it really brings them down.
03:34The Primoz that I have seen from outside and the Primoz that I've started to get to know
03:40is a super strong fighter.
03:43If you think back, his first career as a ski jumper, he even changes a sport and goes
03:48to another sport and is still world-class and achieves things that hardly a handful
03:55of riders have ever achieved in history.
03:58Now it's time to sit back, now it's time to heal, physically and mentally, and then it's
04:05time to define new goals.
