Located between Clifton, Cotham and Westbury Park, Redland is the most stylish place to live in Bristol, according to a survey.
Online store Furniturebox declared Redland as the trendiest place to live in the city after polling 5,000 people.
They praised how vibrant family life coexists harmoniously with student life, parks, retail and chic restaurants in Redland.
We talked with locals to find out if they agreed with the verdict.

What are your thoughts on Redland?
00:02
I really like it, it's my favourite part of Bristol, obviously everyone knows about Clifton
00:10
but Redland's much more alive and vibrant, if you like.
00:17
It's the sort of independent shops, independent cafes and useful chains like the Big Sainsbury's
00:22
is probably the best shop in Bristol, I don't know, it's a very pretty area, I think it's
00:28
nice to walk round, it also feels a lot safer than some areas in Bristol, where you go central
00:32
central Bristol, I think around the Campus Circus and Castle Park it does get a bit dangerous
00:36
in a way that I feel like it wouldn't around here.
00:39
It's a very nice mix of students and, I was about to say normal people, but students and
00:46
just families and things which kind of gives it a good kind of quiet vibe.
00:49
And what's some of your favourite areas of Redland?
00:53
Well I think this particular area behind me is really interesting because it's got lots
00:57
of small businesses, people trying to make a name for themselves in relatively small
01:03
premises, particularly the food area here, there's a lot of start-ups and a lot of little
01:09
really good cuisine corners that you can explore without breaking the bank really.
01:16
Favourite areas in Redland, honestly when it kind of intersects with Clifton, so when
01:21
it kind of like starts around Clifton Down Station, even though I wouldn't call that
01:25
technically Clifton, I think that kind of area is really good, there's a lot of like
01:28
charity shops there, again like I'm saying a lot of kind of like independent shops and
01:31
things like that that are really nice.
01:34
I also think the kind of green spaces around the parks, especially around like the train
01:37
stations like around Redland Station is a really really nice area.
01:41
And are there any issues with Redland?
01:44
Not specifically, no, I mean the road, this road here is sometimes a speedway at night
01:50
for people who don't give a damn, and of course there's always the sort of students,
01:56
the broken bottles that happen after a big party or something, but generally it's for
02:02
a student area which it is, it's very well behaved.
02:07
Well I hope the council sort of nurtures some of the small businesses because the tendency
02:11
for the council is to, as soon as someone becomes successful, is put the rent up in
02:15
the area for businesses particularly and rates.
02:19
So if they look after it, I think it could be a hub for feeding the bigger and more touristy
02:27
parts of the town with the businesses that they grow, and right now I think they should
02:32
be nurtured.
02:33
Thank you.
