An historic 'Bristol blue glass' company may shut after being forced to move - bringing an end to a tradition dating back two centuries.

The famous glassware has been made in Bristol, England, since the 18th century, with a break between the 1920s and 1980s.

But now the 'Original Bristol Blue Glass' firm are looking for a new home - as their current one is to be turned into flats.

Sadly it can't find anywhere and the team says if they close, production of blue glass in Bristol might end.

The small Bristol-based handmade glass company, which has been at its current home for over 12 years, are being forced to find new premises by February next year.

00:00Hi, my name is David Barry. I'm the general manager here at Bristol Blue Glass.
00:03I've been working for Bristol Blue Glass now for 16 years.
00:06Our shop in the centre of town closed. Passing trade down there wasn't so good,
00:10so we decided to let that one go, move everything here and really try and
00:14concentrate on this property, knowing that we would have to move anyway,
00:18because the landlord does want to turn this into flats.
00:23Fortunately, the search hasn't really come to fruition. We haven't found anywhere yet,
00:28so time's getting tight. By the end of February, we're going to have to look at season production.
00:32Things are looking pretty grim, really, at the moment, and it would be such a shame
00:36for the collective of talent we have working for us here to be broken up,
00:40so we're just hoping somebody has something sat there, get in contact with us
00:44and move our premises to.
