00:00The election of a Member of Parliament for the Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr constituency held on the 4th of July 2024.

00:08Do hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for each candidate at the said election is as follows.

00:52Oliver Lewis, Reform UK, 8,894.

01:05Elwyn Preston, Welsh Liberal Democrats, 6,470.

01:19Elwyn Ford, Plaid Cymru, Party of Wales, 5,667.

01:32Craig Gideon, Welsh Conservative Party candidate, 7,775.

01:48Steve Witherton, Welsh Labour, 12,709.

02:03The total number of ballot papers rejected was 193.

02:14And I do hereby declare that Steve Witherton is duly elected a Member of Parliament for the Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr constituency.

02:31I thank the family of the constituents of Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr for what has been an election that has had some ups and downs.

02:36But it has been the honour of my life to have done the job.

02:39I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to what comes ahead.
