At the BET Awards, NLE Choppa talks about the creative process behind his new sneaker line. Plus, he explains to THR why it's important to him to give flowers to women rappers like GloRilla and Sexyy Red.

00:08So, can you talk about your fashion inspiration?

00:10Like, how did you become this fashionista?

00:13Man, just being...

00:14I'm going to give all thanks to my stylist.

00:16You know, she brought it to my attention of how important it is and just how it's a way

00:21of expressing yourself.

00:22So, now, you know, that I get it, I'm able to move around and know what I want to look

00:28like every day.

00:29You know, I just want to look sexy, because I am.

00:31You feel me?

00:32So, you know.

00:33And you have...

00:34I don't have to care less.

00:35And you have a new shoe line.

00:37So, talk about that a little bit.

00:38Like, what made you want to go into the creative route when it comes to fashion?

00:42Yeah, so, I'm dipping into fashion.

00:44That was my first initial, you know, handshake with it.

00:48The duck boot.

00:49Shout out to Omar, Factory Lab.

00:52He created a lot of the Yeezy designs that you've seen with Kanye.

00:56So, just being able to be paired with somebody that knows the game, and I can learn from,

01:00and he can also learn from me as well, and not, you know, cocky about how he's moving.

01:06We're working together.

01:07We're making history.

01:08We really broke records independently with shoe sales.

01:11So, it needs to be studied.

01:14And you are very supportive of the rep.

01:24Why is it important to support them?

01:26Because, you know, I think it's more, we want the support.

01:31We want the love on our end, you know, and I feel like at the end of the day,

01:36you've got to be able to know and be in people's shoes and know what they want.

01:40You know, they done had their time period where a lot of people is kind of like hesitant on giving them their flowers.

01:45I'm always wanting to be the person that's first to give.

01:48You know, like with Sexy, the remix, Slut Me Out 2, putting on a remix.

01:53Glorilla, she coming from Memphis.

01:55I always showing her the big glow every time I see her.

01:57I just want to be that person to give flowers.
