So we cover it all, or do you alright with it?
00:27
The Mayor of Samwell, available for all your gardening needs.
00:44
Is this a first for you Madam Mayor, burying a capsule?
00:48
Last year we did a box, when the Queen's 90th was, we did a box there, memories.
01:01
So we've got Madam Mayor, Saida Khatun, and we've got Headteacher, Headteacher Gerry Pugliese,
01:07
and then Headboy and Headgirl here, we're just going to put a bit on for us, go on guys,
01:11
go for it, cool.
01:24
So what's gone in the capsule then Miss?
01:27
All sorts of things hasn't it, oh gosh, memories, pictures of technology, come in sir, come
01:34
in.
01:35
Who have we got here then?
01:36
I'm Paul Smythe.
01:37
Go on Paul, snuggle in.
01:39
He is our Curriculum Lead and the person who has coordinated all of these celebrations
01:47
for our 70th anniversary.
01:48
So yeah, that's what it's all about isn't it, 70 years of the school, on this site.
01:54
So what's gone in there then Paul, what sort of stuff have we got?
01:57
Lots of things really, there are memories from children past and present, we've got
02:01
photographs of the school back when it was first built and now we've got pictures of
02:06
technology, rewards, things that typify what happens at our school really, just to give
02:13
people in the future a glimpse of the special place that it is.
02:18
So what's the plan, will it have a little marker, a little plaque or a little something
02:22
to say?
02:23
Yes and we're also doing a commemorative book as well, to celebrate.
02:30
Well that's nice.
02:31
Well how was that then Saida?
02:32
It was wonderful and the young people before, they told us about what they buried in there
02:38
and their memories and you know in future when the next generation, their children or
02:44
grandchildren might be opening these and they could come back when they're older and say
02:48
we was here.
02:49
Well what's your names then head boy and head girl?
02:51
My name is Kia and my name is Lucy.
02:54
So just think it might even be your children one day that are opening this, what do you
02:58
think?
02:59
That's weird to think about.
03:02
It is isn't it, it is strange to think about but time goes very quick, you realise that
03:05
when you get old.
03:06
But have you enjoyed today doing the captures, has it been a good fun project?
03:10
Camera and go.
03:11
Hello we're school council.
03:12
Pass it on.
03:13
We meet to discuss ways that we can improve our school.
03:24
We take what we have discussed to our classes.
03:30
We also hear what their thoughts are too.
03:34
Sometimes we meet with the headteacher to share our thoughts.
03:42
The school opened its doors in the years 1953 to 1954.
03:47
It is 2023 to 2024, that is 70 years.
03:54
On this day, the day of the 70th anniversary, we are celebrating our events by putting them
04:02
in a capsule for people to discover in the future.
04:07
This is the 70th year of the school's existence.
04:12
We wanted to mark it by giving children of the future a snapshot of what life at Tiverdell
04:18
Hall was like today.
04:23
Inside the capsule are photos of technology we use, a letter to the future, rewards, reflections,
04:36
examples of praise, school values, hobbies.
04:47
We commit these treasured things into the ground for those that come after us.
04:53
We hope this will give them an idea of what it's like today.
05:02
We hope that Tiverdell Hall continues to be a warm, kind and exciting place to be for
05:06
generations to come.
05:11
Thank you for joining us on this special occasion.
