Reform UK leader Nigel Farage unveils a blown-up poster of the ‘i’ newspaper front page from May 10, 2016, with the headline "Boris blames EU for war in Ukraine". The poster is shown at a rally in Maidstone, Kent, from the top deck of the Reform battle bus. Mr Farage, who has been criticised for saying the west "provoked" the war in Ukraine, tells the crowd: "I was alone, I was the only person in 2014 who said there will be a war in Ukraine. I can't take those words away and nor would I want to." Report by Blairm. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn

00:00I was alone. I was the only person in 2014 who said there will be a war in Ukraine.
00:12I can't take those words away and nor would I want to. The fact that I was more farsighted
00:18than the rest of our political leaders is not something that I'm going to apologise for.
00:24And yet this has been turned into Farage makes outrageous statements. Farage defends Putin.
00:31Well I've done none of those things. I would never ever defend Putin and think his behaviour
00:38in Ukraine and elsewhere has been reprehensible. A man called Boris Johnson
00:44has said that I am morally repugnant for suggesting this might have been a causal
00:56factor in this appalling war that has now got perhaps nearly a million dead and wounded
01:05and shows no sign of changing. Well let's have a little look at something guys shall we.
01:14Here is Boris Johnson. Daily Mail are you watching? Here is Boris Johnson from 2016.
01:25This is what Boris said. Boris blames the European Union for war in Ukraine.
01:36The former mayor is called a Putin apologist after challenging Brussels expansionism.
01:42Well perhaps it's Boris Johnson that's morally repugnant and not me. I don't know.
