00:00Pubs have been a cornerstone of our local communities for centuries, offering a place

00:12for people to meet together and socialise, as well as providing thousands of jobs and

00:16a cornerstone of the local economy. Here we go behind the bar to meet the people who run

00:21our pubs and say why it's important for you to love your local.

00:24Hi I'm Michael, I'm the owner of Junction Bar on Chatsworth Road in Brampton.

00:28How long have you been at the pub?

00:31So we've been open here coming up on our 8th birthday this November, so yeah, 8 years we've been here now.

00:37We've got about 20 staff working for us here, we've got another venue in Claycross as well,

00:42some staff, so some work across both venues.

00:45What's the favourite drink that you sell?

00:47Our most popular drinks probably are cocktails, we do a lot of, sort of, the biggest ones

00:52at the minute for us is Cruz Campo, Moretti, we sell a lot of Pornstar martinis, Aperol Spritz,

00:57those sort of things. So we've got a vast range, we've got real ales on as well,

01:01free rotating lines, we do a couple of craft lines.

01:04We've also just released our own Junction Lager in collaboration with Purity Brewing,

01:09so that's proven quite popular, 4% easy sort of session lager.

01:13So yeah, we serve a little bit of food, Monday to Friday lunchtime, 11am till 3pm,

01:18and then during the summer we do alternate Thursdays, so we do Boards and Bears,

01:22which is sort of sharing boars and fries and wings, and then the other Thursday,

01:26Mammo's Pizza's joining us from 5pm in the garden, so that proves really popular on a Thursday night.

01:32I think we pride ourselves on the level of customer service we provide,

01:37that's always something we've sort of drilled into staff from the beginning,

01:41that's what we feel sets us apart.

01:43We just have a great team, the team morale here is brilliant,

01:46everyone just works together, it's just a great team.

01:49Do you have any future plans?

01:52Not at the minute, always keeping our eye out for something,

01:55but if something's around the corner, who knows,

01:57but we're not actively looking for anything at the moment.

01:59You don't have any events going up in the near future?

02:02We've always got stuff going on, so we've always got music on every Saturday,

02:06we have singers on every Sunday, we've got a Pride event coming up,

02:10celebrating Pride Month in July, so we've got a drag queen on.

02:14We've got all sorts going on throughout the year, it's just a case of keeping an eye on socials.
