00:00A group of van dwellers on a road through a large public park in Bristol have been given
00:05two weeks notice to move on by Bristol City Council.
00:09The enforcement notice has been stuck to a number of caravans and vehicles on the one-way
00:14section of Parry's Lane, which cuts through Durden Downs from the A4018 to Savile Road.
00:21The notice says the encampment has been reassessed as high impact due to the proximity to residential
00:28properties, the inappropriate disposal of human and general waste, its size and concentration
00:34and its nature, suitability and obtrusiveness.
00:38It says the council may take legal action against the van dwellers if they do not vacate
00:43the area within 14 days.
00:46A new tax has also been proposed for people living near the beauty spot to help pay for
00:52maintenance costs.
00:54In May, it was reported that Bristol now has the highest number of people living in vehicles.
