00:00The University of the Philippines approved the 10th Annual Program of UP President's Attorney Angelo Jimenez
00:07for the remaining term of his term of office as President of Natural State University.
00:13Attorney Jimenez was named as the President last year.
00:18As part of his goal, he promised public service
00:22which he also added to the motto of the University,
00:26aside from honor and excellence.
00:28In launching the 10 flagship programs,
00:31Attorney Jimenez gave the use of AI technology in their Digital Transformation Program
00:38where UP is the first university to implement it.
00:45AI is good.
00:47The University of the Philippines is the first university in the Philippines
00:52to come out with its AI framework.
00:55It has 10 points, but I'll emphasize three.
00:58I just mentioned these three.
00:59Human-controlled, transparent, and there is direct accountability
01:04because AI can do a lot of good.
01:07And anything that can do a lot of good can also do a lot of evil,
01:11depending on the intent and the use.
01:13You do not decide whether to adopt AI or not.
01:16Whether you like it or not, it is there.
01:19So it is a matter of influencing the use and further development of AI
01:25to advance very human and clearly defined objectives.
