Three people, two male and one female, were killed in a shooting at a business near a day care in Toronto, Canada on Monday (June 17), according to Toronto police.

Detective Sergeant Al Bartlett, from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit, told reporters the person responsible for the shooting is believed to be among those found dead.

00:00At approximately 3.25 p.m., we received a call for service in relation to sound of gunshots.
00:15Officers attended quite quickly.
00:19They entered the premises behind me, where they located three individuals.
00:26I'm not going to be identifying the individuals any further, other than to say they are three
00:31adults, two males, and one female.
00:37We are still in the process of notifying next of kin, so I won't be taking any questions
00:41about the identity of the individuals located inside.
00:46The individual responsible for the shooting is among the deceased.
00:53I'm going to acknowledge that behind me, there's also a daycare and a school.
01:00As I'm sure many of you are aware, there was a period of a lockdown here.
01:07Our emergency task force officers attended to ensure public safety.
01:12I can tell you that we have no reports of any students or any children being directly
01:20impacted by this, other than that they were in a lockdown for a period of time.
01:26The premises behind me was being operated as a business premises, and it's our belief
01:34at this point that the altercation that took place in there was in relation to that business.
