00:00We'll now recognize the, uh, Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee, Mr. Huizenga, for
00:05one minute.
00:06Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
00:07We'll continue to hear, uh, Democrat colleagues today attempt to deflect blame, and we will
00:12continue to hear a litany of reasons why Chairman Gruenberg is the right man at the right time
00:17with the right ideas to reform the FDIC.
00:20However, one simple fact remains.
00:23Chairman Gruenberg is a failed leader who has put politics and a radical progressive
00:27agenda over doing what is right.
00:29He has put himself and his own ego before the FDIC employees and the well-being of the
00:34agency that he reportedly loves.
00:37Mr. Chairman, the independent report, which findings have been accepted by everyone here
00:41today, was clear on one thing.
00:43Culture starts at the top.
00:46For nearly two decades, Mr. Gruenberg has failed to recognize how his own misconduct
00:51negatively affects his own employees.
00:56Mr. Chairman, it's time for new leadership.
00:58It's time to let the agency heal.
01:01The safety and soundness of our banking system is at risk under his leadership, and Chairman
01:06Gruenberg should resign immediately or be removed by the president.
01:10I yield back.
